The Servant, along with his followers, made it his goal to tell every resident of the new Realm “the truth” about the King—the truth in their mind, that is. They started by saying that the King’s magic was not real. “It will not deliver what was promised,” they swore. They then said that the King only wanted to use them. He need slaves and fighters for his selfish ends. They pointed out that the King was ruthless and that his goal was to use them to conquer other realms. The Servant told the citizens of the new realm how the King had mistreated him and all the other servants of the First Realm.
At first, not many believed these lies. But over time, more and more of the residents of the New Realm did so. This made it easy for the Servant to convince them to demand that the King leave the New Realm and never return.
Mobs began to gather outside the King’s palace. They threatened the King. They told him he would die if he remained. The King did not fear the citizens nor the lying Servant. However, he made the decision to return to the First Realm as he did not want to force the citizens of the New Realm into a service or obedience that they did not desire. Before he was even gone, the citizens of the Second Realm promptly made the Servant their new king.
But becoming king of the New Realm was not enough for the once-powerful Servant. He made it clear that the King of the First Realm would always be a threat to the residents of the New Realm. “We must march on the First Realm,” he said. (He refused to call it the Great Realm because he did not see it that way.) “We must destroy it and its brutal, self-serving King!”
Marching on the First Realm would not be easy, for the King had many warriors there. He also had his own magic. Challengers would never be successful. The Servant knew this. He suggested that instead of going there, they must lure the King back to The Realm of New Beginnings where they could slay him there and put an end to him.
Now, it is important to note that none of what happened with the Servant was a surprise to the King. Thanks to his great wisdom and his most special magic, a power that allowed him to see in the future, the King knew about all of this long before it ever happened.
